Mornings are a special part of the day. They mean a new start in everything. New day, new journey, new expectations/ hopes. Everything is basically new. Therefore it is also better to start your day with prayer and place your expectations before the Lord like David said
“In the morning, I lay my request before you and wait expectantly.” Psalms 5:3
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, LORD, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalms 143:8-10
The most important thing about morning devotion is that you start your day in worship. Welcoming God into your day’s journey and asking him to guide you in your path for His mercies are new every morning.
“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23.
At SACB, we have morning devotions from 05:00hrs to 07:30hrs via zoom. The major theme of these devotions is “Being a partaker of God’s Kingdom.” All topics are derived from the above theme.
Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Colossians 1:12
To partake means to be apart of something. In this case this means to be part of the inheritors of God’s Kingdom. God has delivered us and had translated us into His Kingdom. We begin the day by sowing a seed of faith, worship and prayer.
