St. Andrew’s Church Bukoto Mothers’ Union Celebrates Mary’s Day with Joy and Thanksgiving

On 19th April, the Mothers’ Union of St. Andrew’s Church Bukoto held a joyful and spirit-filled celebration of Mary’s Day, an annual occasion set aside to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patron saint and enduring example of Christian womanhood, faith, humility, obedience, and service.

The celebration brought together members of the congregation, Mothers’ Union members, church leaders, families, and friends in a day marked by thanksgiving, worship, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual reflection. The atmosphere was filled with joy as the church community gathered to celebrate not only the life and example of Mary but also the continued ministry and witness of the Mothers’ Union within the church and the wider community.

Throughout the celebration, members reflected on Mary’s unwavering faith and her willingness to submit to God’s will with humility and trust. Her life continues to inspire Christian mothers and women everywhere to serve faithfully, nurture their families in the knowledge of God, and live lives that reflect Christ’s love and compassion.

A particularly memorable highlight of the day was the enrollment of eleven new Mothers’ Union members into the fellowship. This significant moment symbolized growth, commitment, and the strengthening of the ministry. The congregation warmly welcomed the new members and joined together in prayer, asking God to guide, strengthen, and bless them as they begin their journey of service, discipleship, and fellowship within the Mothers’ Union family.

The event also served as a reminder of the important role the Mothers’ Union continues to play in promoting Christian family values, supporting spiritual growth, encouraging unity within the church, and extending care and compassion to the community. Through prayer, mentorship, outreach, and service, the Mothers’ Union remains a pillar of encouragement and hope to many families.

The celebrations later climaxed in a warm and joyful afternoon luncheon graciously hosted by the Kisules at their home in Mbalwa. The gathering provided an opportunity for members to continue in fellowship, share experiences, and strengthen the bonds of unity within the Mothers’ Union family.

During the luncheon, members were encouraged to embrace healthy living, both physically and spiritually, as an important foundation for effective family life and ministry. They were also reminded of the vital role wives play in supporting, encouraging, and partnering with their spouses in building strong, God-centered, and fruitful marriages.

The keynote speakers, Rev. Canon Justus Miwanda and his wife, shared insightful and inspiring messages centered on Christian marriage, mutual support within the family, faithfulness, and the importance of nurturing homes grounded in love, prayer, and understanding. Their words greatly encouraged members and served as a timely reminder of the Christian values that sustain strong families and vibrant communities.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all Mothers’ Union members, church leaders, organizers, and the entire congregation whose participation and support made the celebration successful and memorable. Their dedication and spirit of togetherness reflected the very values that Mary’s Day seeks to uphold.

As the Mothers’ Union at St. Andrew’s Church Bukoto continues to grow, may the spirit of unity, love, humility, and faithful service remain at the heart of its ministry. May the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary continue to inspire all believers to walk faithfully with God and serve others with compassion and grace.
