UNDERSTANDING OUR SEASONS AS INDIVIDUALS

READING: Esther 4

A season is a time characterized by a particular circumstance. This is a season of religious awakening due to the many prophecies being release at the beginning of the year.

A season can also be a suitable or natural time or occasion for a certain occurrence.  A season is a period of the year characterized by a particular activity or phenomenal. To the farmers, it is a season of preparation for their gardens. Gardens are being prepared and cleared for the planting season. We too have phases and we need to borrow a leaf from the farmers.

As Ugandans, we have the wet season and the dry season. In Europe, they have four seasons; autumn, spring, summer and winter. The one who has the power and the controller of these seasons is the Lord
God as in Daniel 2:21 which says, “AndHechangesthetimesand the seasons; Here moves kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” We should be able to know that in a particular season, God can set up kings and also give wisdom to His children.

Esther was by God’s grace picked on to serve within the Kingdom of Persia as a queen. Her family together with her cousin Mordecai came to Persia as slaves. Esther was advised to keep her Jewish heritage as a secret by Mordecai. The Lord could have established people for us in this season who are going to be there to stand and defend us and sometimes we may not be able to know who they are.

We should not despise our prayer show ever small they might seem. Sometimes God will reveal certain things to us and would want us to come out. King Xerxes was not an easy king and history has that he was a wild man.He was portrayed as a dangerous king and that at one point he ordered that these a to receive 300l ashes because a bridge that was being constructed fell down due to as torm. When the Lord anoints and picks us for a particular reason in a given season,we do not need to ask God why because He knows the end from the beginning. Queen Esther knew well the perils of standing up to the king and she had become queen because of the king’s furious response to Vashti’s brushes. Queen Vashti refused to appear before the King and she was dethroned as queen and that is how Esther was able to take the position of queen.

Haman passed a decree to ensure that Mordecai bows down to him and Mordecai refused to do so. We need to give time to God and bow down to Him and not to any other person.

Esther was a queen and didn’t know that a decree had been passed against the Jews. She was in the palace and didn’t know what had been passed. Sometimes we could be in organizations or in companies and we do not know what is going on.

Who knows that the Lord has put you in a certain position for such a time as this for a particular reason. May be the Lord has picked you to serve at such a time as this for the glorification of His name. Esther understood her season and she gave feedback to Mordecai and called for the Jews to fast. All the Jews were in one accord and they fasted.

Don’t let the desires of the flesh rule you and feed the spirit more than the flesh. Esther understood her season. Sometimes God sends us people to push us into our destinies so that we fulfill our divine mandates.

Even when we face opposition, nothing is impossible as long as we keep seeking God deeper and deeper. This could be a season where the Lord is telling you to deliver messages to people and it is not a season of keeping silent. Maybe this is the time God has chosen to shift you from one place to another. It is God who establishes times and seasons and time is eternal.

This is not a time to keep silent but a time to inquire of the Lord as in Isaiah 1:18. God is our creator but He is calling us to come reason with Him. It could be a season where God is saying gather together, have fellowship together, pray and fast. As you fast you tap into the heart of the Lord.

Be expectant of fasting seasons and we should not be gloomy. Let us concentrate more on God and let us follow the Lord’s requests. We have had a lot of food in this festive season. Expect instructions from the Lord and we should be ready to carry them out.

Sometimes we are in denial and yet the Lord is calling us to serve Him orforustoget into our destinies. Once the instruction comes, be in position to tap into it. Esther made a vow to Mordecai and to God and said, “If I perish, if perish” and she fulfilled this vow.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-7 warns us from making vows and not fulfilling them. This scripture tells us that when we make vows to God we should not delay to fulfill them for God has no pleasure in fools.

The Lord can pick you from grass and place you on the throne, establish you and make you sit one the same table with kings. Let us fear the Lord. When we make vows, let us fulfill them. God doesn’t
take pleasure in fools. May God teach us more on how to understand His visitation.
